About
RISD Sculpture and Interior Architecture alum, Immersive Entertainment Art Director and Artist
I am an immersive artist, designer, and classically trained sculptor. I have art directed software used by millions, was instrumental in designing and fabricating Burning Man Honoraria work, and consult repeatedly with design firms such as IDEO. I am equally comfortable with long hours welding in the desert, building scenic environments, or designing circuit boards, 3D models, and embedded firmware.

I graduated from RISD with a BFA in Sculpture, where I built the foundation of my figurative and metal practice, including my thesis project Nostalgia Purgatory. Today, I continue that same build-first approach across immersive environments, from custom electronics and PCB integration to scenic fabrication and systems-level creative direction.
At Neotropolis, I lead a team of immersive environment designers and actors in large-scale narrative worldbuilding work that contributed to a 2026 TEA Thea Recognition of Merit. I consult repeatedly with IDEO and have contributed to large-scale productions tied to Burning Man Honoraria builds and Lightning in a Bottle. In Portland’s underground scene, I also run La Boheme, a vintage teahouse experience built to feel like stepping into another era.
In the sieve of time, all cultures evolve, languages are lost, and things become replaced. “Wynn” and “Thorn” are two Nordic runes meaning Joy (ᚹ) and Danger (ᚦ), which were also at one time characters in the Old English alphabet. I sign much of my art with these two runes instead of my name; “ᚹᚦ”. Forgotten letters have significance to my portfolio of artwork because I have at my core an overwhelming desire to Preserve Every Era. Themes of nostalgia and world-building are present in my artwork and my life; with interest in historical reenactment, architectural and cultural preservation, and themed environment design. I love histories, folk-tales, and celebrating cultures that are small or passed on. Constructing works of art that bring to light fascinating histories and fictions is my primary focus, using tangible objects or by installing surroundings to encourage the feeling of stepping back in time. NostalgiaPurgatory dot com is my homage to the past, for reviving and retelling stories, and also my personal portfolio website. In time I will populate it with projects and interests of mine, and eventually build up the bygone archive.
